Job Title: Procurement Manager
Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Objective:
We are seeking an efficient Procurement Manager to join an Oil and Gas company. The Procurement Manager will oversee procurement planning, costing, negotiations, and supply chain logistics for multiple projects for our client, a leading EPCI company in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas sector. This role ensures cost-effective procurement of supplies, equipment, and services for all installations and maintenance contracts while adhering to local and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and present procurement strategies to company directors.
- Manage all procurement operations within the SCM department.
- Oversee procurement processes, including negotiation and delivery management.
- Promote safety awareness among supply chain and vendor staff, aiming for a zero-incident rate.
- Approve Bid-Lists and purchase orders within authority limits.
- Conduct supplier prequalification and commercial bid evaluations.
- Prepare negotiation strategies and lead procurement negotiations for high-value contracts.
- Ensure compliance with Cathodic Protection (CP) procedures and HSE standards for all contracts.
- Approve supplier payment requests after verifying all obligations are met.
- Oversee contract and purchase order close-out processes, including resolving claims.
- Estimate freight costs and coordinate cost-effective freight forwarding services.
- Utilize SAP BP ERP for all contracting and procurement transactions.
- Build long-term supplier relationships and command respect through credibility.
- Lead cross-functional procurement teams and promote procurement best practices.
Job Requirement:
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering.
- Master’s in Supply Chain Management or Procurement preferred.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and HSE certification are added advantages.
- Minimum of 4 years in procurement within the Oil and Gas sector.
- Strong connections and contacts in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry.
- Proficiency in SAP and inventory control systems.
Key Competencies: - Strategic procurement skills within the Oil and Gas sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and supplier management expertise.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian Oil and Gas markets, commodities, and global logistics.
- Proactive leadership and exceptional negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build and manage vendor relationships.
