Job Title: Residential Head Chef

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Salary: N300,000 - N400,000

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Head Chef to manage all culinary activities in a private residence. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing seasonal menus, preparing gourmet meals, and overseeing kitchen staff. The role requires creativity, excellent cooking skills, and a passion for using high-quality ingredients, with an emphasis on nutrition and dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve daily meals according to household preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Create seasonal, diverse menus including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for both family members and guests.
  • Source and select the freshest, high-quality ingredients from local markets and suppliers.
  • Ensure proper food storage, inventory management, and kitchen cleanliness in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including assistants, cleaners, or additional chefs, as required.
  • Cater for special occasions, events, and formal dinners with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Adjust menus to accommodate dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
  • Maintain a budget for food supplies and kitchen equipment.
  • Stay updated with food trends, new recipes, and techniques to enhance culinary offerings.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, preferably in a residential or private household setting.
  • Formal culinary training from an accredited institution.
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of cuisines (e.g., international, fine dining, etc.).
  • Ability to adapt menus to meet specific dietary and nutritional needs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
