Job Title: Travel Assistant

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Salary: N170,000

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel Assistant to join our team, dedicated to providing exceptional service and assistance to our clients. As a pivotal member of our travel agency, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless travel experiences, addressing client needs, and fostering lasting relationships.

The other tasks of the travel assistant are to arrange for the booking of tickets, accommodations and other assistance needed by the client for the travelling and also during the travelling. The travel assistant must help in preparing travel itineraries.

Your primary goal is to not only meet but exceed client expectations, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty for future services.

Summary

1. Comprehensive Travel Organisation: Organize end-to-end travel arrangements, including booking tickets, accommodations, and transportation.

2. Information Dissemination: Provide travellers with comprehensive and relevant information about destinations, schedules, and travel packages.

3. Promote sales & profit goals: Promote travel packages using effective sales techniques and prepare promotional materials.

Functions

1. Thorough Research:

a. Conduct in-depth research on destinations, travel prices, customs, weather conditions, and reviews.

b. Stay informed about the latest travel trends and emerging destinations.

2. Client-Specific Understanding:

a. Determine clients' travel preferences, interests, and specific requirements.

b. Suggest and tailor suitable travel packages that align with clients' preferences and expectations.

3. Booking and Payments:

a. Facilitate the booking of transportation and accommodations.

b. Collect payments and maintain accurate financial records related to clients' travel transactions.

4. Innovative Package Development:

a. Contribute ideas and collaborate with clients to formulate new and enticing travel packages and schedules.

b. Ensure meticulous planning of travel itineraries to optimize client experiences.

5. Client Interaction:

a. Assist and advise clients on travel information, helping them choose the best travel plans according to their needs.

b. Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience.

6. Problem Resolution:

a. Address and resolve travel-related problems, complaints, or refund requests promptly and effectively.

7. Networking and Record-Keeping:

a. Maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders & clients.

b. Keep meticulous statistical and financial records.

8. Achieving Targets:

a. Work towards meeting and exceeding profit and sales targets.

9. Adaptive Travel Support:

a. If necessary, travel alongside clients to provide on-the-go assistance, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free experience.

Job Requirement:

1. 2 years of experience as a Travel Assistant or similar role

2. BA in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or similar relevant field

3. Knowledgeable about travel, tourism, offers & its trends

4. Excellent knowledge of computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travelling

5. Good sales and presentation skills

6. Critical thinker and problem solver

7. Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

9. Professional attitude and appearance.

10. Solid written and verbal communication skills.
