Job Title: IT Project Manager – Asset Tracking and Tagging 

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Salary: N600,000

Employment Type: Contract 

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee the implementation and management of the tracking and tagging of our assets. This contract role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless deployment of tagging solutions, and driving project delivery within the defined scope, timeline, and budget. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in IT project management, asset tracking technologies, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop and manage the project plan, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Lead the end-to-end implementation of asset tracking and tagging solutions across all designated locations.
    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  2. Technology Deployment
    • Oversee the selection, deployment, and integration of RFID, barcode, or other asset tracking technologies.
    • Ensure compatibility of tracking systems with existing IT infrastructure.
  3. Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Liaise with internal departments, vendors, and external partners to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
    • Communicate project progress, updates, and challenges to stakeholders regularly.
    • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for end-users on new asset tracking systems.
  4. Risk and Issue Management
    • Identify potential project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
    • Address and resolve technical or operational issues promptly to avoid delays.
  5. Budget and Resource Management
    • Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
    • Coordinate with procurement teams for the acquisition of tagging devices and related equipment.
    • Monitor project expenditures and provide regular financial reports.
  6. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including requirements, workflows, test plans, and user manuals.
    • Prepare detailed project status reports, including achievements, risks, and recommendations.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in IT project management, with a focus on asset tracking or similar technologies.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with asset tracking systems (e.g., RFID, barcoding, GPS tracking) and tagging implementation.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, system integration, and data management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Trello
