Job Title: AUDITOR
Salary : NGN150,000-200,000
Location: Ikota-Epe Lagos
The Auditor is responsible for conducting independent and objective audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with regulations, and the accuracy of financial statements. The role involves identifying areas of financial and operational risk, ensuring the integrity of financial records, and providing recommendations for process improvements.
Job Description
- Assist in the development of the annual audit plan.
- Perform risk assessments to identify areas for review.
- Develop detailed audit programs that outline the scope, objectives, and audit methodology for each assignment.
- Conduct audits of financial statements, operational processes, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Review the effectiveness of internal control systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and effectively.
- Identify any financial discrepancies, misstatements, or instances of fraud.
- Prepare audit reports detailing compliance findings and recommendations.
- Examine financial records, systems, and data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct detailed testing of accounts, balances, and supporting documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of financial transactions and ensure correct classification.
- Recommend risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize exposure.
Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of auditing experience, preferably in internal or external audit roles.
- ICAN / ACCA qualification is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in audit methodologies and financial analysis.
- Ability to interpret and apply audit standards, regulations, and policies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and presenting findings.
