Description
Role: Inventory Officer
Location: Lekki phase 1, Lagos
Salary Range: 120,000 – 150,000
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including tracking stock movements, monitoring stock levels, and conducting regular stock counts.
- Procurement: Coordinate with procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of stock and maintain optimum inventory levels to meet operational needs.
- Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect goods for quality and condition.
- Storage and Organization: Organize and maintain inventory storage areas, ensuring efficient use of space and proper handling of goods to prevent damage or loss.
- Stock Rotation: Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and other inventory management techniques to ensure proper stock rotation and minimize obsolete inventory.
- Inventory Analysis: Analyze inventory data and generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and trends to inform decision-making and improve inventory management processes.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock transactions, adjustments, and discrepancies, using inventory management software or spreadsheets.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management, including safety and security protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including procurement, logistics, and finance, to coordinate inventory-related activities and resolve issues as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in inventory management practices and contribute to the implementation of best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in an electrical or related industry.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with electrical products and components is a plus.
